Are you a freelance developer, or a software agency?
Somewhere between the two, and deliberately so. You work directly with the senior people doing the build, much as you would with a good freelance developer, but with a settled team behind it so the work never stalls when one person is away. There is no account manager between you and the people writing the code.
How long does a custom build take?
A custom WordPress or WooCommerce plugin or a single integration is typically a few weeks. A portal, internal tool or Shopify app usually runs from one to three months. A full web application is longer and is delivered in phases, with the first working version live well before the whole thing is finished. The timeline comes with the fixed quote.
How much does custom software development cost?
Every project is priced on a written scope, so there is no rate card to quote here. The price is fixed before work starts, a smaller first phase is nearly always possible if budget is tight, and we will tell you if an off-the-shelf tool would do the job for less. Send us what you are trying to achieve and we will come back with an honest range.
Should we build something bespoke or use an off-the-shelf tool?
Use the off-the-shelf tool if it fits your process and you can live with its limits. Build when the tool is making your team work around it, when the data you need is stuck in three systems, or when the thing you are selling is the software itself. We will tell you which side of that line you are on, even when the answer is that you do not need us yet.
Can you integrate our website or store with our CRM, accounting or stock system?
Yes. We have connected websites, stores and internal tools to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and custom CRMs, to Sage and Xero, to Stripe and Opayo, and to stock, fulfilment and email marketing platforms over their APIs. Each one is built with proper error handling and logging, not fragile workarounds that break the moment an API changes.
Do you build custom WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify functionality?
Yes, all three. On WordPress and WooCommerce that means bespoke plugins and extensions written to coding standards, so they survive core updates. On Shopify it means custom or public apps built on the Shopify APIs, webhooks and app extensions. If the plugin or app you need does not exist, we can develop it.
Who owns the code, and what happens after launch?
You do. Everything we build for you is yours, with the source code and documentation handed over. After launch we stay available for fixes, changes and the next phase, on a month-to-month retainer or per project, but you are never tied to us, and the code is written so another developer could take it on.
Can you take over and improve a system another developer built?
Usually, yes. We start with a review of the code, the hosting and the documentation, tell you honestly whether it is worth building on, and then scope the changes as a fixed-price phase. Where a system is beyond saving, we say so and propose the smallest rebuild that gets you what you need.
