What is Google Tag Manager and do I need it?

Google Tag Manager is a free tool that lets you manage all your tracking tags - Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, and others - from a single interface without editing your website code. If you are running any form of digital marketing, you almost certainly need it. It makes tracking faster to implement, easier to manage, and less dependent on developer time.

My Google Analytics data looks wrong - can you fix it?

Yes - this is one of the most common requests we receive. Incorrect data is usually caused by duplicate tracking tags, missing filters, misconfigured events, or incorrect conversion actions. We audit your setup, identify the root cause, and implement the correct fix with a clear record of what was changed and why.

What is GA4 and do I still need Universal Analytics?

GA4 is the current version of Google Analytics. Universal Analytics was sunset in July 2023 and no longer processes data. If you are still seeing Universal Analytics, it is historical data only. GA4 requires a fresh implementation - the data model is different and we set it up correctly with all the events and conversions your business needs.

How long does a full tracking setup take?

A standard setup - GA4, GTM, and Google Ads conversion tracking - typically takes two to five working days depending on your site's complexity. If your site has complex funnels, multiple conversion types, or custom event requirements, it may take a little longer. We provide a clear scope and timeline before starting.

Can you set up Meta (Facebook) Pixel tracking?

Yes. We implement Meta Pixel through GTM, configure standard events (PageView, Lead, Purchase etc.), and set up the Conversions API where possible for more reliable server-side data. We verify the setup using Meta's Pixel Helper and Events Manager before signing off.

What is server-side tracking?

Server-side tracking sends conversion data directly from your server to ad platforms, rather than relying solely on browser-based tags. This improves data accuracy, particularly with cookie restrictions and ad blockers. For businesses running significant paid media spend, server-side conversion tracking can meaningfully improve the quality of data that optimises your campaigns.

Can you link my tracking to Google Ads for conversion data?

Yes - and this is one of the most impactful implementations we do. Importing GA4 conversions into Google Ads, or setting up native Google Ads conversion tracking via GTM, provides Google's bidding algorithms with the signals needed to optimise for real business outcomes. We configure this correctly, verify it is firing, and ensure the right conversion actions are used for bidding.

How will I know my tracking is working correctly?

We provide a verification report after implementation confirming all key tags are firing correctly. For ongoing monitoring, we configure alerts for significant data anomalies and carry out periodic health checks. If something breaks - after a site update, for example - we catch it and fix it quickly.
